Biocade is our structured sheet plastic media for trickling filters. Available in two fabrics, Polypropylène (PP) and PVC, both offer superior strength.
Warden Biomedia's Polypropylène media is shaped, extruded films formed in a single step from the melt. It has a thickness distribution which creates extremely high strength blocks, with much reduced Matière input, necessary for stacking. Our welded PVC media is completely free of adhesives and solvents. It is formed from a fully automated welding process creating superior strength to media formed in a mechanical press process.
Both are extremely resistant to fungi, acids, bacteria, rot and alkalis and are a cost effective treatment for wastewater.
Factors involved in the type of media used in a system include the organic loading and wastewater treatment objectives. For example, complete treatment, nitrification or roughing. The media's Surface, void volume and distribution qualities are also important to the system's performance.
Features and advantages
- Film thickness distribution directly from the melt –giving extremely high strengths and no possibility of reverting to original shape at elevated temperatures
- With same geometry and weight: PP exhibits higher strength than PVC because of greater film thickness
- Fully automated welding –very inexpensive and substantially greater strength than 'mechanical pressing'
- Dispensed with adhesives and solvents which pollute the environment
- PP up to 75°C continuous use temperature; PVC up to 55°C
- Produced from PP/PVC granulate with high percentage of UV protection additives
- Hundreds of thousands of cubic metres installed worldwide
- Technical support for different applications
- High Surface and Évacuation enables high BOD/COD removal
- High resilience to shock and toxic loads compared with activated sludge plants
- Cross flow advantages
- Maximised mixing / redistribution points
- Robust proven technology
- Extremely low carbon footprint compared to alternative technologies
- Hi Nitrification rate
- Low energy consumption
